Eon and utility warehouse breaching price cap?

According to Martin the price cap eletectricty unit rate from Oct1st is around 52p. The current price cap is obviously below that.

So how is it that both potential providers I'm looking at for a fix are offering electricity at at least 60p per unit.

The tariffs are Green Next 38 for UW and Next Online 20 for EON.

Because fixes are not subject to the cap - only the variable rate standard tariff.

Ps - my advice would be to avoid UW like the plague unless you want constant problems, impenetrable billing/charging systems, a not fit for purpose complaints system (which you will very likely need to use!)  and a complete inability to add manual payments to your account to “top up” your payments if needed. (They’ll accept your payment,  but fail to actually apply it to your customer account).

Fixed tariffs aren't subject to the price cap.

Fixes aren't covered by the price cap. It's only the standard variable rate.
