Electric Blankets - the cheapest way to stay warm this winter
Comments
-
I have a single electric over-blanket on the bed. I keep it clean by keeping it in a standard duvet cover ( the layers are: me in my v. fetching damart nightie; top sheet; electric blanket in its cover; standard duvet in its cover; then a normal blanket; cat, if he deigns me with his presence.) OH doesn't get as cold as I do, so single if fine.
I got mine from Argos: it has 6 heat settings and a timer ( great if you want a low heat through the night, or just a blast for an hour at the beginning.) I wish I'd bought one years ago. I can get very, very cold, to the point of feeling ill with it. The electric blanket for me really is a necessity.
I haven't tried the sofa snuggle blanket.3 -
While we’re delving into the mists of time, anyone remember these from pre-central heating days?Electric bed warmer.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.2 -
I do indeed. I once was a proud owner of a very similar bed warmer, having been delighted to find it in a jumble sale. I was probably only 7 or 8 at the time. Genius idea, far better than hot water bottles.0
