Hi I wonder if someone can advice me or give me some information please . I applied for Pension Credit and I am entitled to it but I can’t get it because my son lives with me . He is on ESA , and the person I spoke to said because my son lives with me and can’t get it . Is this so ? I have disabilities and receive the higher amounts for both . Could someone help with advice please . Thank you so much

You would get much more detailed advice on the Benefits board, it maybe that some kind of premium would have been added to your applicable amount if you lived alone, do you have any pensions other than state pension?"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

I would google "age uk benefits calculator" and complete as best as you can, make sure you read each question thoroughly. Good luck0

I can't see why you do not qualify for pension credit even if you live with a non dependant relative. I would contact Age UK for a full benefit review.1

Do you receive Attendance Allowance, PIP, or the Middle or Higher rate of Disability Living Allowance?
If you receive any of the above you would be entitled to the Severe Disability Premium which may then mean you qualify for some Pension Credit.
However if any other adults live with you, you would not get it, unless they also claim one of the above Disability benefits or they are registered blind.
The reason is because they would be capable of helping you but if you live on your own there would be no other adult to help you.
Does your son claim any disability benefits? I'm afraid ESA on its own isn't enough."All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well."

Having your son living with you does not make you not eligible for PC.If your income is below £182.60/week you will be entitled to PC (unless you have savings over £10,000 in which case the threshold will be reduced).https://www.gov.uk/pension-credit-calculator
As others have highlighted, if your son receives a disability benefit such as PIP your PC entitled will be higher (unless he receives Carers Allowance or the carer element of UC for looking after you).Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0
