Recieved DRP letter after only appealing on company website (appeal template) but didn't complain!!

Hello Newbie here.

I recieved a PCN in May 2022, and  by the time a friend had advised that I read the MSE forum Newbie post on this topic, I only had time to send an appeal (Parking forum template) on the parking company's website.

By missing out the complaining stage, should I just pay Debt Collectors Plus?

Sorry to anyone who views my first ever post as tedium.

Thank you for your time

The complaining stage is to the landowner/retail park or wherever the car park was situated.  If you take the parking forum advice by reading the NEWBIE sticky 4th Post you will find out all about debt collectors - never pay them!

Plan A is always to complain to the landowner and your MP. There is no time limit to do this.

    Plan B is to appeal.

What is the name of the PPC please?

Did they respond to your appeal by giving you a code to use for a second stage appeal (PoPLA or IAS)?

If so, did you use it?

Debt collectors are powerless. As advised by Le_Kirk, the fourth post of the NEWBIES tells you why it is safe to ignore powerless debt collectors.

  • Hi,

Thank you both for the swift advice.

Glad to hear there is no time limit too.

PPC is Euro Car Parks and they have give me a code for POPLA but I did not reply to their appeal rejection before the DPR letter arrived today, or contact POPLA either.

I'm planning on leaving the letter until the they escalate to court summons....If thats the right thing to do?

Shall I get the landowners contacts and send an email to complain?

    Thanks again

Yes and yes - correct things to do.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

Plan A is to complain to the landowner and your MP.

    Plan B is to appeal.

Plan C is to make a PoPLA appeal. If that is still an option then you should do so, and complain to the BPA that you are receiving threatogrammes from powerless debt collectors during the appeals window.

If you are outside the 32 day PoPLA appeal window then you should be in ignore mode except Plan A unless you receive a court claim.

It won't be a summons, unless, of course, you have done something criminal!
