Being Quoted Business Rates For Electrical Supply To. Residential Property

We own a house attached to a barn conversion. The house was formerly used as a B&B/Tea Room, then later a holiday let. The barn conversion was subjected to domestic rate, the house to business rate. Electricity was paid through a single, domestic meter. A year ago the house function was changed to a residential let, the rating authority notified, and the property was converted from business to domestic rate paid direct to the LA by tenants. Electricity charge was shared pro rata with the tenants.
Electricity consumption is about 38,000kWh split 63:37 night/day on E7. The tenants have, understandably, baulked and believe they could run the house more efficiently if they had control. Consequently, we have arranged to split the supply and to install their own meter (therein lies another story!)
Quotations for the new supply state it is a business and have priced accordingly (day unit at £0.80p/kWh as opposed to £0.34p/kWh - and that was before yesterday’s uplift to the ‘price cap’).
How can I get this new supply registered as domestic? The company I’m dealing with only offer WFH staff who seem unable to grasp the issue.

I am not sure I quite understand your post
If one property was subject to a domestic tariff and the other to a business tariff how could the electricity be paid through a single domestic meter?
In any case when you are installing this new meter fot the house who is installing it and is it a completely separate supply or are they piggy backing off your domestic barn supply meter?0
