Lidl Plus - benefits being watered down from September

Until now we have used the voucher system by spending £200 one month and then 2 X £200 the next therefore achieving 6% reduction each month.now after spending £250 we receive might receive a conditional 10% on the next shop in which we would need to spend yet another £100 to receive the £10, Therefore (bear with me) that is £350 spend to obtain discount of £12 ie 3.4%.There is little or no incentive to reach the final goal of £250 spend let alone the diminishing return to spend moreThe products have increased generally approx 10-20% across the board, the idea of being offered a mystery prize at £150 is not going to cut it, after years of using the app we have never used any prize its only ever chocolate or dougnuts or other rubbish that nobody wants that they try to clear the shelves with before they have to throw it away as being no longer safe to consume by a human.Just my pennyworth0

FYI the 10% off when you spend £250 isn't a permanent thing, it's only running for September and October.
For some people it might be worth using it as an opportunity to stock up ahead of winter (e.g. if you are getting a one-off credit back from your energy supplier). The maximum discount from the 10% off is £20, i.e. you can save money on up to £200 shopping.1 -
NibblyPig said:I've never understood their rewards, I always miss them. If I've just gone to Lidl and done a big shop, what use is giving me 7 days to go back to get another £2? I'm good for a couple of weeks at least without a top up shop.Same with the pastries.
Rarely get to use the vouchers because of the 7 day time limits and calendar month windows.0 -
Lidl have shot themselves in the foot with this change to the rewards, hopefully they'll realise and go back to the tried and tested 12 quid for 200 spend. I think many lidl shoppers loyalty will be tested and will simply shop elsewhere if there's no incentive or unrealistic targets and less reward. Very disappointed and will be shopping around with my usual 200 lidl monthly spend.2

The £10 voucher was a nice perk at the end of the month. This new scheme is effectively worthless to me as I never spend more than £250 a month. I've worked out my food shop will actually be cheaper elsewhere now so will probably shop there much less often now.
