How are Scottish Power charging me more than the price cap per unit?

    Normally, you dont need to change your meter to go onto a single rate tarrif.  They just apply the same rate to both periods.

    Don't judge it simply on the summer use. If you have electric storage heaters for the winter then E7 is probably right for you. If not then change to standard rates,

    Why are you on E7 then? Presumably you’re not using it for heating - which is the normal reason for having it. Do you maximise things like appliances running on the cheap rate where you can? How about your immersion heater if you have one - do you have that on a timer overnight or do you just use it on boost on the day rate when needed? 

    E7 used well can definitely work out a lot more cost effective - we use around 75%+ of our electricity overnight and will be working towards trying to increase that level if at all possible this winter.
