If the cap price is £3549 what does the cap rate on the unit price for both gas and electric come out at.

  • There isn't one number, it depends on region and payment type.

    'roughly'
Assumptions for a direct debit customer with an 'average annual usage' of 2900kWh electric and 12000kWh gas

    Standing charge  - Electric 46p x 365 days = £168
    Standing Charge - Gas 28p x 365 days = £102
    Usage - Electric 2900 kWh x 52p = £1508
    Usage - Gas 12000 kWh  x 15p = £1800

    168+102+1508+1800= £3578

As I said, its a rough guide to an annual cost at a unit rate based on a fictitious energy usage but hopefully you can see how the figure is calculated.

As already mentioned, rates can vary by area and payment type - seek out your own area rates from these forums and also use your own annual usage figures in kWh and you should be fairly close to a personal projection (valid until the rates go up again of course)

    Hope this helps

    12000 X 28p = £3360?
The gas unit price is more like 15p/kWh.

Well spotted - I typed the SC rate instead of the unit rate - although I got the correct answer  :)
