Which air conditioning

Following the recent heatwaves we have had and they are not going to get any better i want to get some air conditioing for the bedroom as at times it was 32 degrees at night, its like a greenhouse.
As its only going to be used at night for a few nights a year i was thinking a portable with the small window kits as i only have small vertical opening windows. I would like a proper installation but couldnt have anything on the outside, im in a mid terrace and it would look awful.
I have seen this https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09X7K6TSH/?coliid=I18G7C91570K6G&colid=1I3DXGTI34K6X&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it Its an electriQ IQOOL-SMART15HP which is wall mounted inside with no outside unit and uses a heat pump rather than condenser which maybe a better option than a prtable.
Any one have any experience or other ideas?

I purchased a portable aircon unit a while back online. It had been dropped at some point during shipping, and made a horrendous racket when turned on. The seller accepted a return and I got all my money back. Will not buy one again online.Neighbour has something similar and has the hose sticking out of her bedroom window throughout the summer - Having seen what her electricity usage is like (10,000KWh at the last count), that is another reason for me not getting one.Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.2 -
We have had a portable AC unit for a few years - really noisy, so we really only used it during the day or to precool bedrooms before sleep, rather than keeping on all night. Has been fantastic for those few hot days, but wanted to do something more permanent for the future.
We have some wall mounted heat pumps very similar to that electriQ unit - slightly higher efficiencies and slimmer case, but more expensive. Two 160mm diameter holes through the outside wall, plus a condensate pipe - we have external grilles colour matched to our brickwork and render, so doesn't look obvious from outside. They work really well, but I don't know that particular make on Amazon - probably all made in the same factory. The units I installed also have options for fresh air modules and supplementary heater batteries for low winter temperatures, as well as options for side discharge and high level mounting.
I've replaced the radiators in the bedrooms with them, as our house is really well insulated and we don't run the heating upstairs in winter very much. I've also installed 2 units downstairs for cooling, but will also run these for heating in the winter as I can run them more cheaply than our gas heating system. All our units are installed under windows, and don't get in the way any more than radiators would.
Lower efficiencies than a traditional split AC system with external condenser, but the fact that you don't need to install anything noisy outside is a big advantage. Even with these units there is an audible noise outside of the house, as the noise is projected from the external grilles - not an issue where I am in the countryside, but might be annoying for neighbours in closely packed streets.0 -
cheers. @ComicGeek what model do you have? id maybe like to compare as i cant find any others of that typre apart from the Powrmatic Vision but that is nearly double the price.0

Powrmatic vision ....
Much more information available on these units than random models on Amazon, and more options available. I also looked at Unico Air which are very similar units, but not as attractive or efficient as the Powrmatic units - also dubious claims about 'noiseless operation' (not possible!), 'hassle free installation' (still beyond the capabilities of most DIYers) etc.0 -
cheers thanks for that

No problem at 62p/day with our current setup, but I wouldn't be running it very often without the PV, battery and low tariffs - with the October price cap figures that would be £7.80/day!0 -
Hi, I'm having Air Conditioning fitted through out my home, not only to keep cool but also to heat my home in the colder months. My relatives in Canada use this type of cooling and heating system. We are waiting for it to be delivered and fitted so can't comment on the kWh used each day. My brother who is fitting the units for us has just fitted the system to his home and says its brilliant and will save him money in the long run.0
