snoozer said:Hi everyone,
dp1 I'm so pleased that little one no longer needs the oxygen at night, dd must be thrilled, what a tribute to her (and your) care of her.
Gers, it sounds as if your family is having a great time.
Ruby, I'm glad you are enjoying your new role.
Hope you are less stiff today.
We have had a very full on couple of days, part good part bad. The bad is that Brian had a call to say that his mum was failing and to go up to Glasgow urgently so he flew up without coming home from work. She has been in hospital for a few weeks but the boys (he has two brothers) weren't able to get any info (at her request, we think she was trying to spare them but it just added to the stress). Laura went up with Esben by car yesterday and took Steve's sister so that she could break the journey on the Wirral, she'll carry on today and hopefully will get there in time to see her mil.
At the same time we had a call for help from Chris and Crystal who had got home the previous evening. They'd been alarmed because baby (Nathaniel) had been vomiting quite a bit so they had both been awake a good part of the night. They'd rung the hospital and been told it was because he was born by C section, they don't naturally get squeezed in the birth canal and get rid of the mucus in their passages so some of them vomit it up over the first few days. No-one had told them so they were worried.
Anyway I got lots of cuddles, he is absolutely gorgeous and tiny, but feeding well and sleeping peacefully as well. Chris and Crystal didn't get as much sleep as I would have liked but Crystal's mum is going today and I suggested they asked her to stay for a few days which I think they might. If she can't I'd be happy to go to help.
On a more sombre note, it's likely we will have to go up to Glasgow in the next couple of weeks and I wondered what the name of the hotel is where you stay Gers. I know someone on here recommended it and it sounds lovely.
Have a good day.
Anyway: Hotels in Glasgow | Grasshoppers | Luxury Hotel Glasgow (grasshoppersglasgow.com) thoroughly recommended. We stayed there a few years ago and flew back down to Luton with the owner, who was living in Cambridgeshire.13 -
Evening all - its almost 8pm here, still haven't got to terms with jet lag.Snoozer - so sorry to hear about your MIL. I hope that the family are able to be there in time. As Camelot said, the hotel I use is the Grasshopper, right in the middle of Glasgow city centre.Today I mostly retreated to my small cabin as I'm not a fan of the noise and mayhem of four young children 😀 I love seeing them being so free and feral but sometimes it becomes a bit overwhelming for me. There's lots of whizzing around on quad bikes and motor bikes (NOT me BTW 😂) and shrieking on the trampoline etc. Today a very large kangaroo took up residence in part of the land. I'm used to deer, kangaroos are a whole different plot.Taff - I think that you're off on Italian travels soon, have fun.Hugs to all, can't look back easily. Sorry.13

Afternoon everyone...Evening Gers
Just a quickie from me as I have jobs to do and I've been very distracted. Out of the blue I bought a kitten yesterday - a teeny weeny little one who I've named Trixie. She is gorgeous though very timid....little one was so excited but managed well to stay calm to give her a cuddle. DD was looking for one for me and found out her friends mum had 3 kittens to home - a couple of hours later I had a new little friend.
Nathaniel is a lovely name Snoozer - hope he's better today and his mummy and daddy have had a bit more sleep.
Thanks everyone for the good wishes for little one - she is so excited that she can go to bed without any tubes.
May not get on tomorrow as I'm taking little one to Alnwick Gardens - it'll be so nice not to have to take oxygen with me.
Hope everyone has a good day x

Thanks Camelot and Wicked Lady. It will be a very short notice booking so it may not come off but we will see.
I'm afraid I may have misled people into thinking that Nathaniel is being very sicky but he's not it's just that the new parents are very nervous about him and Crystal especially is finding it hard to sleep if he's put down for worrying that he may choke on the mucus.
They rang about 7.30 asking me to go over so they could hopefully get some sleep. Obviously I said yes but I hadn't realised they'd asked Crystal's mum as well because they thought one of us would need support (Crystal's mum has had 6 children). Anyway it was fine, we both had lots of cuddles, they got some sleep and I left when Crystal's stepdad arrived.
Laura and Esben have arrived in Glasgow thankfully, I don't know if they'll take him to the hospital because they don't want him to be upset.8
