RBS CC goodwill adjustment late payment removal

Good Afternoon.
So I'm wanting a mortgage for a house and had a look through my Equifax credit file and I have a missed payment on my RBS credit card in April, as soon as I got the alert I made the payment. My report apart from that is perfect, no other nasties.
I went onto RBS chat and they said they couldn't do that as they have to report the true nature of the payment(which was late) to the credit agency.
But from what I've read they should be able to use their discretion and get this adjusted as a goodwill gesture. As it looks like other companies have removed late payments before as a goodwill gesture, Is that true?
Any help appreciated.

It's possible but very unlikely as you've left it so long before paying.
Set up a DD so you don't miss any more payments if you're not monitoring your statements.

Yes, it's true that many lenders will remove the marker as a gesture of goodwill, especially if it's an isolated incident in an otherwise unblemished record. But this is entirely at their discretion, and strictly speaking they should report it, as it's a true record of the facts. But the fact that you didn't contact them straight away will likely reduce the chance of them being lenient. However, a single blemish in an otherwise faultless history will have very little, if any, impact on future lending.1
