Can I plumb a fridge/freezer in through a solid wall?

As the title says. Not DIY, will get a professional. Just wanted to know if it's even possible.

We bought an american fridge/freezer. Currently sits in our conservatory, which is an addition on the back of the house so the kitchen is on the other side of a solid "external" wall. The sink/water access is on just the other side of this wall so in theory the fridge and water source are next to each other, but blocked by this large wall! I believe it is double brick with cavity insulation (1960s build with additional cavity insulation added in 70s but possibly not to this wall).

Obviously it's not ideal, but we bought the fridge with plans to redo the whole kitchen and incorporate it into the room in the next 18 months to 2 years. However we'd love to be able to use the water and ice maker, so are looking for a solution for the next few years.

Is it possible? Can we just have a massive hole drilled in the cupboard under the sink and feed the hose through? Doesn't need to be particularly clean. Don't care about cutting a big hole in the side of the sink cabinet - whole kitchen is 25 years old and needs to go so we're just making do at the moment.

Does not need a massive hole, just a hole big enough for the pipe.

No reason a decent plumber could not do it. Would even be in the range of DIY if you are happy messing with plumbing.

OK that's good to hear! I just wasn't sure if there was going to be some weird law or reason that it can't be plumbed through.

I might chat to my builder about it as I'm not confident about drilling through the wall. But it sounds like something he could do without the need of a plumber.

Absolutely, IIRC the plastic pipe/tube coming with Samsung fridge is just 1/4" = 6.35mm - and you can put it through a tiny hole as it can be cut to the length you need before adding any fittings.

Easy job for a plumber, they should have long drill bit’s already in the van. Would recommend that a plastic sleeve is inserted in the hole before feeding the pipe through

We reached 38 degrees on the hottest day... it was terrible! But it will have to go at some point as it's also 3 degrees in the winter... we just haven't got the money to replace yet.

My American style FF has a very small micro bore blue hose so the hole in the cabinet is also pretty small. I ran mine under the base cabinets about 3 meters in total.

Its very easy to install and anyone who has even the slightest clue about DIY could do it.
