New boiler - Switch to electric?

I have a Gas boiler and it needs replacing soon. I only use gas for the hot water and extremely very occasional central heating. I have electric for cooking and a wood stove for heating the main living room.
Would i be better off switching to an electric boiler? I cant get a heast pump due to their size and having no where external to put it im in a mid 1900 terrace so i need a proper boiler.
Im not on any benefits and work full time so dont qualify for any help either which isnt great so looking to save cost and go local engineer / installer

Simple answer - no.
Price of a unit of electricity is way higher that a unit of gas and both boilers would use a similar number of units to heat your home.Barnsley, South Yorkshire
Solar PV 5.25kWp SW facing (14 x 375) installed Mar 22
Lux 3.6kw hybrid inverter and 9.6kw Pylontech batteries
Daikin 8kW ASHP installed Jan 25

We had an electric boiler at a rental in Spain. Cost a fortune to run......0

In October the price for a kWh of electric will be approx ~60p, for gas approx ~15p. Your going to use the same amount for heating water whatever you use, so gas will still be far cheaper, but if you only need hot water now and again for a washing up bowl for example (ie, your shower is electric) then it may be cheaper to boil a kettle full for that rather than a tank full. My gas boiler hasn't been on since June !

Do you shower or bath (presumably bulk of your hot water demand)?
If you shower it might be cheaper to install an electric shower than replace a gas boiler although the running cost would probably be 3-4x higher than a shower from a gas boiler.
No need for an annual boiler service & you could have the gas meter removed (which you might have to pay towards) to save on standing charge year on year.
What was your annual gas consumption in kWh last year?0 -
Cheers.
I do have the shower running off the mains water and gas, used to have electric but it was awful no pressure so got it plumbed in a few years ago.
Think ill just stick to gas then.0
