Windows 11, replacement for CorelDraw X4

I’ve had to get a new laptop recently but my copy of CorelDraw X4 won’t run on windows 11. As I see things I can’t afford to buy a new up to date copy, which is a pity as I love CorelDraw. I did try running it in a virtual using an earlier operating system but it didn’t go well.
Therefore, are there any free alternatives that will run under Windows 11 I could use instead?

Kirta seems to be the closest equivlanent. https://krita.org/en/ is the website. Free, so worth a shot.

What actual issue are you getting? It won't install? Not even in compatibility mode?

What version of Windows was it previously running on?
