Plumbing Consultancy?

We have recently had a couple of 'strange symptoms' with our plumbing, after having various  jobs done around the house.

There is the possibility that this has brought to light a bigger issue with the underfloor supply pipe, OR it might be nothing to worry about.

I dont really need a 'fix this leak' plumbing company, but is there some way to employ the services of a 'water/plumbing consultant' that doesnt have a vested interest in diagnosing the worst problem because he wants to get paid for doing the job?

Most plumbers have no need to create extra work especially difficult work involving digging, just get a plumber to diagnose the problem.

I have to agree with this - any decent, genuine plumber will have plenty of work booked out for the next few weeks, maybe even months.  As always, word of mouth is your best option for finding someone - ask friends, neighbours, local community Facebook page, for recommendations.

Just get a local plumber to investigate it. Inform them you need a report on the issue and will pay for their time involved.

The consultants you are looking for are called M&E consulting engineers (M&E=mechanical and electrical) .  They usually are involved with plumbing in big commercial buildings but also can get involved in domestic buildings.  I would get a quote before hiring them.  Try to get a smaller local firm as they should be more used to doing domestic property work.  A local architect should be able to give you the name of a suitable firm, if you cannot find one by an internet or directory search.

    Plonker.
I doubt you'd get any plumber in North America to do a house visit in the UK speedily or cheaply.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

That poster is an obvious spammer - resurrecting old threads to tout their wares (check out their other posts).  I've already flagged them as spam.

We seem to be lacking symptoms at the moment, after having a couple of peripheral plumbing jobs done, which either means we have no problem to worry about or the symptoms were not indicative of it, so we are taking a 'wait and see' approach.
