Advice welcomed for PCN x4 for blue badge holder

I am asking this question on behalf of my stepdaughter as she is very upset on why she has been issued these charges.
She visited a leisure centre with my grandson after a gap of probably 3 Months, she is a blue badge holder and therefore does not pay for parking, it seems however that the leisure centre in question leased there parking to a private company. The issue here is that she was never informed by the centre until after she received the charges that she had to log her vehicle in reception, no notices within the centre and she didn,t notice any new signage either inside or in the car parking area.

Is there anyway she can fight this as she is on incredibily low income and cannot afford to pay especially if they increase the charges from £60 to £100.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

The blue badge scheme does not apply on private land, and most private car parks do not allow free parking for blue badge holders.

What is the name of the parking company please?

Where did the alleged events occur? It may have cropped up here before.

The keeper should complain to the leisure centre owner/manager/CEO as well as their MP.

If a cancellation is not forthcoming, then the keeper should appeal using the template in blue text from the NEWBIES, and find another leisure centre.

Get photos of the site and signage, and lack of signage as well.

Thanks for responding so quickly, the Company in question is Gemini Parking Solutions, the area is South London. We haved actually sent an e-mail on her behalf to the Leisure centre Manager but as yet have had no reply.

Easy enough to appeal based on the fact the keypad is not prominently drawn to drivers' attention inside at reception, and by calling these 'keying errors'.  Also attach a copy of the Blue Badge.

she is a blue badge holder and therefore does not pay for parking,
Not the case in most car parks. Blue Badge holders usually pay - and quite right too, it's not a means tested permit. She must always read signs.

In this case though I'd expect the landowner to tell Gemini to cancel.  If not, I've explained how to appeal and the NEWBIES thread already tells people NOT TO APPEAL AS ADMITTED DRIVER so that's standard stuff here.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD
  • Thanks all, I was told that when she went to reception to complain about the PCN's she was asked to log in from the machine they had hidden behind reception.

I will follow up on the appeal process if the Manager does not reply by tomorrow using the aforementioned template.
