A few weeks ago I took my company vehicle for a drive because it hadn't been driven for two weeks, no problem a work journey. But I decided to go to the park and go for a walk, does that make it a personal trip out.

No, I don't use it for that purpose. I don't fill in time sheets at moment, so I wasn't paid more for taking a walk.[Deleted User] said:

Are you only allowed to use the company vehicle for work and commuting, or are you allowed personal use?

If your friend genuinely believes he was insured then he will be able to prove he was going to look at a vehicle for PX as wont he will have the correspondence showing him arranging the visit via which ever method he found the vehicle advertised in the first place?0
