Such a blunt and unfair instrument!! Some people WON'T need this as they live with parents or multiple people claiming in same house. Where as people working full time minimum wage and no dependents get nothing!

Even if they do live with parents sometimes the extra costs of their disability will rise due to energy usage for some equipment.
You do realise that people on pip can work full time..Mortgage free wannabe

Overpayment paused to pay off cc
Starting balance £66,565.45

I live with my daughter and we both have a disability and claim PIP. Just because she lives with me doesn't mean she's any different from anyone else that claims a disability benefit. We will both be entitled to the £150 as well as the full £650 CoL payment.

That is already happening with the £650 cost of living payment.F70 said:Such a blunt and unfair instrument!! Some people WON'T need this as they live with parents or multiple people claiming in same house. Where as people working full time minimum wage and no dependents get nothing!
For those (younger adults mainly) that don't have significant living costs (perhaps because they pay nothing or a token amount towards food/rent at their parents home) it may be some welcome 'beer money'.
To introduce specific additional conditions to try to ensure that only those with increased/significantly increased costs receive the payment would likely be time consuming and expensive to administer. Trying to find out which claimants that live with a parent/family member have to pay 'rent' or for food as opposed to those that don't would be an enormous exercise.0 -
I'd happily trade our son's various disabilities for losing the entitlement to an additional £150.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

I’m a carer for a disabled person, they should get all the extra payments, I glad they will.
On a personal note, I get carers allowance only 41p an hour for a 168 hour week.
I will get nothing, is that right or fair.
NO, but that’s the way it is.

If you only claim carers allowance and have no other income you really should check to see whether you have any entitlement to UC.Bigwheels1111 said:I’m a carer for a disabled person, they should get all the extra payments, I glad they will.

In which case you are deemed to have the means to live and are expected to use them to do so. When they fall to £16,000 or below you should check UC entitlement again.Bigwheels1111 said:
