Meter reading taken by a third party for energy comp. that dont supply us, then £500 bill

    I thought i paid by my card but it may have been credit card.
    Regarding morrisons, the lady told me it was BG but it only dawned on me once she'd gone that we don't have an account with BG as my wife sorted the energy supply. When i called BG I queried if i did hold an account (or if the house was supplied by them)  and she confirmed that i didnt. Very strange

    It isn't unknown for meter readers to pitch up at the wrong address. Readings taken by meter readers (who work for data collectors) are deemed to be validated and entered directly into the customer's account. This happened to me last year.

    A meter reading appeared on my account which was 8000 units higher than my actual meter reading. CS was adamant that it was correct. I let the lady read through her script. When she had finished, I asked her to look at the smart readings pulled from my meter. After a period of silence, she confirmed that the reading had been deleted.
