Hi, hoping someone can advise me please on the below...
I've received a charge today of £170 via gladstones solicitors for a parking offence back in 2020.
This is the first I've heard about it. I moved home 2 years ago so assume the parking company may of been writing to my old address.
The charge is due to me 'entering the relevant land' however with it being so long ago I'm struggling to remember if I parked there at all.
There's no photographs within the letter and the gladstones letter says to get in touch with them rather than the private company that issued the original fine.
Could someone offer any advise please? Can i request photos requesting proof I was actually parked there and that the claim is a valid one?
Can they chase for payment 2 years after the offence date amd do they have any right increasing the amount to £170 if they've been writing to the wrong address?
Thanks

Thanks 😊
It's unpaid parking charges in August 2020. It states the current charge is £170
But the original charge was £70 by the looks of it0 -
It states 'letter before claim' as the header0

Is it a proper letter of claim by giving you 30 days to pay or respond or is it a glorified debt collector letter?1
-
It's from gladstones solicitors giving me 30 days to either pay or dispute the debt before court proceedings. The letter dosent give a lot of information other than I was recorded entering the said location. No photos etc, length of time I had parked there0

Deal with a LBC by following the guidance in the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, second post. It's all there for you to follow. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

But presumably you will have had the original PCN/NTK in 2020. If not, was your address correct on your V5C at the time? Follow the advice given by @Umkomaas and submit a SAR to the parking company.Jenlou83 said:It's from gladstones solicitors giving me 30 days to either pay or dispute the debt before court proceedings.
