Money Moral Dilemma: A building firm hasn't invoiced me for shoddy work - should I chase it up?

  • Don't you get sick and tired of shoddy workmanship?  I must confess if it was me and would not pursue it at all.  Seems their admin is as naff as their work.

if previous comms have been by mobile phone, then i wouldn't be worried about getting in touch yourself - they know know how to contact you.

except that if they have nbeen sending the bills / chasers to the house there's nothing stopping them them issuing a court claim and then getting judgment in default if OP doesn't respond. They are not under any obligation to chase by phone first.

In that scenario it's *possible* that OP might then be able to get the Judgement set  aside, but it would be a lot of hassle, might not suceed, and could cuase problems with t OPs credit record until it was sorted.

If the OP has had their post redirected then it's a little different as they would presumably be getting the bills.

I'd contact them even if it's just to say that you presume givn the poor quality ofwork and the lack of follow up that they are not seeking to charge - send it by post from your new address.
