My property currently has a single tariff old school meter. You know the type, the one with the lovely spinning disc. It works just fine but is only a single tariff meter. It is possible for a smart meter to be set-up as a E7 one off site, then install it in dumb mode. This means you would manually need to give the two meter readings every month. But it can be hard to get the supplier to do this. I've only seen it done once, as a Ombudsman complaint.
