National Mutual Life & Consolidated Life Assurance

My Dad passed away a few years ago.
I'm having a bit of a clear out and have found several letters of correspondence to suggest at some point he had life insurance with them.
I can't work out who i need to contact to see if they were ever kept up with or if they have lapsed.
Can anyone help.
Thanks

    • Consolidated Life Assurance was closed, probably in 1997/98. They last submitted accounts in 1996.
    • National Mutual Life went into voluntary liquidation. Winding up was commenced December 2016 and the company was finally dissolved in September 2017.

Its an unfortunately generic company name which makes tracing it hard to do... was your Dad always resident in the UK/working for a UK company? Do you have the exact name of the company? Its normally in the footers of letters. There also should be a registered address for them
  • After a bit more investigating with a website called Policy detective it showed both companies held by Windsor. Would this not be correct then?

And is now administered by:Windsor Life Assurance Company Limited

  • You should enquire of Phoenix as it is probable it has ended up in their stable (sounds like a ReAssure precursor).
