yes, I know I am not supposed to post twice- but you might miss this bargain.

earlier today was in Tesco Mablethorpe & all their Unwins seeds are reduced- now 20-30 pence per packet
I assume this price will be in force across all their stores?
Seeds are BBE 2024 or 2025

I'm far too snobby to go into Tesc*, but that's a good, sensible price. :) Thank you.
Meanwhile, my Konsa outdoor cucumbers which cost 29p (original price) from up-market Lidl are doing marvellously and threaten to overwhelm the dung heap. Of course, offering sensibly priced seeds, Lidl sold out of theirs months ago.
(Once worked at Tesc* as a child slave youth. Certainly learned a lot :o and broadened my horizons somewhat. ;) Decided the experience would last a lifetime....and it has! :D)

    Thanks Katie.
Lucky you. Our Tesco doesn't do seeds and the plants this year were pathetic. I used to look forward to their reduced ones.

On-line is the way to go with most seeds; indeed it's almost the only way with rare plants and obscure veg. If one bears in mind that long term dormancy may set in within a month, some seeds sold in garden centres are virtually useless.
I noticed this week Premier seeds sent out a notification to say their Elephant garlic were ready for folk to order. An hour later they emailed again to say they were sold out, with all 90kg spoken for!

Storing unopened seed packs in the fridge will extend their life by 2-3 times usually.

I do prefer buying online as well though, I'm also massive fan of Premier Seeds, their prices are always good and they have a good range. I bought from them last week and my order (20 packs) was posted within literally an hour and arrived within 48 hours. They also store their seeds better than any garden centre would so the germination rates should be better as well.

That being said.. 20p is still a bargain.
