Have been advised to fit a Glowworm combi as the Worcesters are almost impossible to get.Anyone got any comments about these - I know that they come with a 10 year warranty, but any comments would be welcome. I understand that they are the same inside as the Vaillant ones? Feel free to comment please.

We had one in our previous house, it was new (as was the house) and it was fine, though it did once need a part replacing when it was still in its warranty period. Maybe just bad luck. I believe they are basically Vaillant but someone more expert would know.
10 year warranty is good for peace of mind, just usually requires annual servicing to be eligible. I know a lot of people consider Worcesters to be the Rolls Royce of boilers but our current one is an Ideal which I am told has been designed to be an equivalent to the similar size Worcesters but a few 100 pounds cheaper, and with the 10 year warranty. I am quite happy with it so far. Some friends decided to go the Worcester route and it has also worked fine for them. In the first 10 years I'd expect that tbh...0 -
I'd be careful assuming this. Whilst Glow Worm and Vaillant are part of the same company now that doesn't mean the boilers all share the same internals.diamond_dave said:Have been advised to fit a Glowworm combi as the Worcesters are almost impossible to get.Anyone got any comments about these - I know that they come with a 10 year warranty, but any comments would be welcome. Just out of interest, who has advised you to update the boiler? I would probably prefer an old Worcester than a new gloworm tbh.2006 LBM £28,000+ in debt.

And I would prefer a Baxi, in the 12 yrs I had my current valiant eco tec, I’ve replaced 2 diverter valves, 2 termisters, 1 pcb and 1 pump.
oh and changed the rubber hose’s inside for copper ones.
Lucky enough for me all the parts under £200.A thankyou is payment enough .0 -
My friend who's a heating engineer is Worcester trained but can't get them at the moment.I did ask about others and he told me about the similarity with Vailant.0

Just make sure your new boiler is installed correctly or you will not get the 10 year g'tee.0
