Uber eats refusing refund
Android07
On 9th August, I ordered food from a restaurant on Uber eats for delivery.
The restaurant cancelled the order after a few minutes.
Payment for £14.15 was taken from my bank account via debit card.
I expected the refund to be processed automatically and did not chase Uber for it.
I have been recently checking my bank statement and noticed that Uber eats did not issue a refund. I have contacted Uber eats but they have refused to provide me a refund as apparently it was my responsibility to chase them for a refund and I should have done it within 48 hours.
They are now refusing to refund me.
What should I do?

Request that your bank does a chargeback.1

The screenshot shows a nil charge?
Are you sure you've actually been charged for it and it isnt just a pending transaction sitting on your account? It'd be a long time for a pending transaction to sit there but if you are looking for a refund rather than looking to see a pending transaction dropping off then that may be why you haven't realised its not actually been charged.2 -
Auth can sit pending there for 14 days, so today would be the last day for it to drop off.Life in the slow lane1

It would show as your available balance is less than the statement balance.Android07 said:DullGreyGuy said:The screenshot shows a nil charge?

If you can see it as a debit on your statement, then contact bank to start a non receipt chargeback. (nice & easy)Life in the slow lane1 -
Thank you everyone. It has dropped off now.

Thank you for letting us know; lots don't! Satisfactory outcome in the end, too.Android07 said:Thank you everyone. It has dropped off now.1
