Hi, there my brother has received a parking charge from group nexus for parking in Tesco without getting a ticket for the duration of his stay, 34 mins. We did not know we had to do that, we didn't read any signs and we have parked before a year or two ago but never received a fine then. So the rules may have changed on this occasion.
Any advice someone can give, to avoid paying out, please?
Thanks

It is not a fine.
Plan A is for the vehicle keeper to complain to the manager/CEO of Tesco, and their MP.
If that fails, then they should appeal using the template in blue text that can be found in the sticky Announcement for NEWBIES near the top of the main forum page.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

Thank you, we have spoken to the manager of the Tesco where we are charged to park. They said they don't own they do not own the car park and cannot and are unwilling to get involved with parking charge disputes.Fruitcake said:It is not a fine.

Do email the CEO of Tesco now? And do we have any templates to write our MP?
Thanks0 -
They said they don't own they do not own the car park and cannot and are unwilling to get involved with parking charge disputes. Is it a single Tesco site, or are they occupants of a multi-outlet retail park? GroupNexus aren't their usual car park enforcers. So I suspect they don't have direct control over GN.Do email the CEO of Tesco now?You can try. Sometimes the stores have a small number of cancellations at their disposal each month. And do we have any templates to write our MP?Nope. Tell it from the heart. A template complaint would be quickly seen for what it is - a generic, non-specific copy and paste, destined for consignment to the round file! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Hello I'm looking for some help.
I have received a Parking Charge reminder from Group Nexus (however i never received a first letter and i can see this has happened to other) the date of issue was 02.05.23 for the reminder however it has only arrived this week and now the 14 days to respond has past so the letter indicates it will go to debt collectors? Ive worked nearly 100 hours this week and have only just opened the post thats come this week but it literally left me a few days to respond even if i had opened it.
The charge is from a service station as we went over the alloted time due to the engine over heating and not having recovery and needing to allow time to cool and seek advice. We were so stressed we never even saw the signs, i would have happily paid. The letter doesn't indicate at all how long we overstayed and as the service station is 4 hours away i have no way to check.
Is there anything i can do now or will this now just go to debt collectors? Please help after a frantic week im now exhausted and full of anxiety. Ive read over alot of the different threads but couldnt work an answer out for my case.0 -
Is this a service station with a Tesco?

Welcome. Stop worrying and please start a new thread for your issue otherwise it gets lost in the background of someone else’s thread.
There is a big red button you can click at the top of the forum to start our own thread.
Whatever you do, do not tell anyone the identity of the driver. A simple appeal to Group Nexus with the following text is advised:This is an appeal by the registered keeper - No driver details will be given. Please do NOT try the usual Group Nexus Trick of asking for driver details in order to get around the fact your NTK does not comply with POFA. As there is no keeper liability then liability cannot flow from the driver to the keeper and thus is an automatic win at POPLA. Therefore, please cancel the notice or issue a POPLA code at which point you will auto withdraw
