Shell Energy - getting a smart meter installed

I never chose to accept having one installed by them although I was offered. The offer I received was having it installed for free. Have you got Twitter as they are quite responsive on there, you could ask them to confirm costs?. I can only assume it’s free, but circumstances are usually always different, so it’s best to check with them about your property requirements0

Smart meters are free. An engineer will call, will take out the old meters and replace them with a new smart ones.
The gas/electric will be switched off for a short time while the meters are exchanged. The fitter will run some tests and should check that all your gas appliances are working correctly (burners on the hob, boiler, gas fire etc) You should then be issued with an IHD (in home display) to help you monitor your energy use.
It is all usually completed in 60-90 minutes.Barnsley, South Yorkshire

Thanks all for you fast replies!
Ive actually just found the relevant videos on their website. (it is free to install).
I suppose its interesting to see my energy usage in real time, although I am very conservative on my energy usage - especially these days. Other than it automatically submitting meter readings, Im not sure what the benefit it. Ill have a sleep on it.0
