Sealing Knots in Wood?

Hi all,
Using a heat gun and scraper I've managed to successfully strip back the old gloss paint on our door linings. Now back to bare wood.
I'd like to seal the knots in the wood. Is it worth getting some clear knotting solution like Liberon? Or is it worth going straight onto the wood with a "do-it-all" product like Zinsser BIN? Or, maybe even both for extra insurance?
Thanks!

To seal knots effectively, you should use a shellac based product - Both the products you mention will do the job. My preference would be the Zinsser B-I-N as an all in one primer & sealer. If you just want to seal a few knots on the cheap, dissolve some shellac flakes in alcohol, and brush on to the knots.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
