I’m confident I can help find the exclusion if the OP can say who their household legal cover is with.
usually something along the lines of “as a driver or passenger of a motor vehicle”.
the wording is important if you’re a pedestrian or cyclist.

but i agree it’s worth spending 10 mins establishing what you do an don’t have.

Your insurance company should be claiming off the lorry drivers policy. If it's not your fault.
You have been injured, so the accident should also have been reported to the police.

They are involved but maybe an insurance certificate was produced at the time. 😉

The OP only has 3rd party cover.
She didn't know she was injured at the time of the accident.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

No. Not if you have 3rd party insurance.
3rd party insurance covers other people.
the OP has no insurance for their own vehicle.

they still haven’t answered if they have legal cover.
i suspect they don’t have any add-ons if they’ve skimped on the main cover.

As your insurance is 3rd party i assume it is not on finance.

As driver has admitted liability all your costs are covered, your claims company SHOULD offer a courtesy car, if your car is repairable then the truckers insurance should cover it but be prepared to haggle and stand your ground, they dont usually have the option to write it off with it being your car (unless they offer enough subject to valuation (- more haggling)

Dont let the car be stored or taken away unless you agree with valuations

(I did rather well out of a Montego years ago, kept the car, rebuilt a MG Montego Turbo using the bits)

Taxis are claimable within reason, injury claim might bring an offer or more haggling, your claim company will send you to a specialist if they see fit.

Loss of earnings - if you are off work (easier for PAYE than self employed)

Claims companies make a mint off courtesy cars, they own them and charge hundreds per week, the others insurers have little choice but to cough up, which in turn increases everyones premiums eventually

Good luck, at least the trucker admitted his fault and HGV insurers are pretty good with claims

If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales
