Clearing history, cookies and cache in Chrome, Windows 10.

I've tried following instructions on line but have not been able to remove history, cookies and cache in Chrome, Windows 10, on my Android Laptop. Following the instructions and clicking 'delete' at the end does not work and, when I check History again afterwards, everything is there as before.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Sorry for my lack of expertise. Because my laptop is not Apple I thought that meant that it was Android. It is a Toshiba Laptop (I could find the details) and, a while ago, updated to Windows 10. It is a Chrome Browser and DuckDuckGo is my Search Engine.
Since first posting I found this link on line: my activity google and it seems to have removed some of the history.
Thanks.0 -
If you go to the top right of page (3 dots).... go to "Settings"...... then "Privacy & security then "clear browsing data"........ you will see there clear browsing data, clear download history, clear cookies, clear cached, clear autofil data[Deleted User] said:Sorry for my lack of expertise. I use a free version of Wise Care 365 which does the cleaning/clearing on a daily basis. You know what uranium is, right? It's this thing called nuclear weapons. And other things. Like lots of things are done with uranium. Including some bad things.

Thanks Sicard. I have not heard about Wise Care 365 - will look into it. Always learning!0

Firmly in the category of "crapware" and absolutely not needed.Sicard said:I use a free version of Wise Care 365 which does the cleaning/clearing on a daily basis.
Have you done due diligence on "Shanghai Anchang Network Security Technology Co., Ltd" that provides that software and are you happy to run their code on your system?
All modern browsers have built-in settings to clean the cache/history/cookies etc,
Windows has built-in tools to clear temp/cache files but unless you are stuck for space it isn't needed.2 -
You can try hard refresh, which is CTRL + SHIFT + F5 on Windows and CTRL + SHIFT + R on Mac!1
