EDF Gas monitor

We get our electricity from British Gas and have set up the monitor. Everything fine. However we have included on this monitor the EDF gas. However the only thing it records is the standing charge and nothing else. The monitor less than 3 metres from the meter. I have spoken to EDF and they confirm they are getting regular readings from the meter.
The meter was installed about 6 weeks go and I was curious if anyone else had problems with the EDF gas usage being monitored.

Check the actual gas meter to determine whether EDF has sent the correct tariff information: that is, unit charge and standing charge.
If the correct tariff information has been sent out, then the most likely explanation is that you have a problem with the communications hub which has within it a gas proxy meter. The GPM uses a fixed calorific value to convert gas volume to kWh: this is then available for display on your monitor. The ‘problem’ is that energy suppliers are not responsible for communications hubs: these are managed by the DCC as the boxes contain secure GCHQ-level software. If the supplier is receiving the correct usage information then you will get nowhere asking for a new communications hub. There are also known firmware issues with WNC1 communications hubs which only WNC can fix. FWiW, I have had SMETS2 meters for over 3 1/2 years and my IHD has never displayed the daily gas standing charge.
The ‘good news’ is that all communications hubs will have to changed by 2030 under the DCC Evolution Plan as 2G is now in its sunset phase.
You could try downloading the free App BRIGHT. Hildebrand, the App owner, is a Registered DCC Other user and it can pull usage and tariff data from your meter. I use this App and it shows my usage and costs.2 -
