Thunderbird 102 very slow

I downloaded and installed the new Thunderbird programme, as the previous version was beginning to be slow loading emails.
I thought that the new version would speed things up, but it hasn't! I have GMail and Hotmail, and don't keep many folders, so it isn't overloaded. Checking these emails onsite, they download immediately. Have cleared History but doesn't seem to have made any difference.
Does anyone have any advice how I can speed it up to how it used to be?
Thank you

Get a new upgrade as version 102.2.0 fixed that issue for me.

Thanks for replying @SlayerOfMead
I already have the new version.
The issue seems to have fixed itself. For several weeks the programme was sluggish and slow, but then went back to the fast speed it was initially.
I haven't changed any settings or done anything differently, so unsure what the problem was.
But, thankfully, all resolved.1 -
They did have an intermediate update sort of from .1 to version .2, I blame Brexit lol

@SlayerOfMead You're right. Boris is usually blamed for everything, probably his fault.
