    The deal was only for the concert tickets, not for the pleasure of your company as well.
    If you find that no one else wishes to use them, just post the tickets to the other party and say you hope they enjoy the concert as you would have done. No money.

    The ethical and moral thing for them to do would be to send you the balance of the price.

    ETA: and a Get Well Soon card.
