That's better! The morning here is just dreadful, high winds and driving rain, it's more like a mid-winter day. It may all move away later, fingers crossed.Yesterday was one of those funny mixes of bright spells then rainy periods. I had a really lovely drive down for my hair appointment. I prefer this salon as the owner is very calm, the atmosphere soothing with trance music playing quietly. Only one customer at a time keeps everything peaceful. Anyway, three hours later my hair done.I had a leisurely drive up the west side, the sea was a deep blue and the wind was creating stunning white horses, such beauty had to be admired. When I reached the town I stopped for a cheeky wee Chinese takeaway. My fridge is practically empty so I felt justified. 😀
Whilst I was away the chap up the hill came to take down the spare bed. He had to leave part way through so came back later to finish it off. It's now dismantled ready for him to remove. He's a good chap so I rewarded him with a couple of drams.Today is final faffing around day. 😀 Only things missing from my suitcase is my sandals, the flip flops are tucked away, I won't need any others apart from what I'll be wearing. My oldest nephew with wife and family leave today, middle nephew arrives next week, it's all coming together at last.Izzy - I hope that your son's wedding is wonderful and your borrowed fascinator is a success.Happy Saturday to everyone.11 -
Good morning, and thanks for starting Gers - have a wonderful holiday. It's not a bad morning here, I don't think rain is forecast.Welcome SarahLouise, don't be a stranger, keep posting!Nels, I hope your Mum is feeling better today.Coxy, you must be all doored out, painting panelled doors is the worst, I think.Congratulations to all who've done well in their A-Levels, especially after the difficult time over the last 2 years. One of our Dgs's is awaiting his GCSE results next week.Izzie, the big day has finally arrived! Hope it all goes well, have a wonderful time.Snoozer, you'll probably find your purse now you've cancelled everything.Ruby, your new job sounds lovely.DP1, did you say you'd gone to Morpeth the other day, it is a nice little town isn't it.I know I've missed people out, so sorry. I didn't post for a day or two and missed loads of happenings.Hope everyone has a good day anyway, take care folks.12

Morning folks and thanks GERS. I hope the weather perks up a bit for you today. It's looking promising here with a nice day forecast. Yesterday it kept looking as though rain was imminent but it never arrived.
The hunt for a shopping trolley resumes today. I am off on the bus to the small retail park along the valley bottom. We have a dire selection of shops in these parts. I'd probably do better going to Leeds but my legs can't cope with trailing round there. I have looked on line but there are so many I was featherlegged before I started.
Just call me Monty Don - I now have a tray full of small pots of tiny Basil plants that keeps getting moved around the kitchen as it's always in the way! If they all thrive I shall have to part with some of them.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies and fed up. NELS I hope DM continues to make progress and is soon back in the home again. IZZY I hope the wedding goes well and you look fabulous in your outfit. Take care one and all be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning all and thanks for the thread Gers.
Bright and sunny here, I'm off to FC shortly. Lost 2lb last week but think today will be a maintain if my home scales are to be believed.
DS2 accepted his uni accommodation offer - £8,190 for the year which is payable in termly instalments. He only gets minimum maintenance grant of £4,524 so a fair bit for us to find, plus the list of items he needs to kit himself out. I will start with that today when I'm in town and will look for some kitchen bits.
We watched The Mummy with Tom Cruise last night - it was okay.... I was cross stitching whilst it was on. Also recorded Point Break which I'll look forward to re-watching - Keanu Reeves, what a guy....
Not sure what dinner will be as DD is back for the weekend and DH is meeting a friend for drinks this afternoon. He lives in Barcelona and doesn't get over often. DS2 is working tonight.
Enjoy the wedding day MOG aka @IzzyBee - post photos!!
Happy travels @Gers - enjoy the time with your family xx
Hugs to all the poorlies

Morning All
Have a fantastic day Izzy, you'll look stunning.
Have a great trip Gers, it'll be great to be with all your family.
Well done on the seeds TA, my problem is I can't part with any!
So glad you enjoyed your new job Ruby.
Hope your DM is comfortable Nelski.
Welcome SarahLouise, we're a friendly lot.
13 doors Coxy? Wow, well done.
There's been heavy rain overnight but the sun is shining at the moment, I'm off to Perth with DD and family to visit DS1 and celebrate DGD's birthday, it'll be nice not to drive and the little one will keep me entertained on the journey.
Sorted out the greenhouse yesterday, the tomato plants are now just sticks with tomatoes on! Found another couple of cucumbers growing and the next lot of lettuce are coming on well. I put the washing out about 5pm for a blow, it's finishing off on the pulley.
Hope you all have a great weekend, take care. XX10 -

Off to see mum today in hospital hopefully won't be long before she's out. Got to speak to her yesterday. She sounded well. They have asked for no visitors since she went in on Mon but said it would be ok today.
Not much else planned just a chat with my age uk friend this morning then mum this afternoon.
Food will probably be some HM chilli from the freezer with wraps
Have a good day all

Morning everyone
Quite dull and windy here with showers forecast but I have promised little one an 'adventure' so we'll be going out - postponed from last Saturday as it was raining!
DD will drop her off about 10 then we'll get the bus into town and we're going to go to a park that has wooden sculptures of animals to find which I'm sure she'll love.
We'll take a picnic but will have to see what the weather is like - it might turn out to be a back home on the rug picnic! She's staying tonight as DD is working.
Nelski - have a good visit with your mum
Gers - if you're anything like me you'll spend the day wondering if you've got everything
Scarlet ribbons - yes I went to Morpeth - must be nearly 30 years since I was there! Lovely little town with a far better selection of shops than we have and no empty ones.
TA well done with your growing - I have a basil plant outside which was a supermarket plant
Izzy have a wonderful day
Sorry if I've missed anyone
Just noticed the time - better get dressed
Have a good day everyone x
