E: 14/09 Win Lasting Powers of Attorney for two, worth £1,000+
Setting up a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) might not be top of your to-do list – all that paper work and legal jargon sounds like too much effort when life’s busy enough. Not to mention the costs involved. And hey, you’ve got your Wills sorted, so what’s the big deal?!
Well, actually LPAs are just as important as Wills and they’re relevant to all adults, not just those of a, ahem, certain age. These vital documents that appoint trusted people to make important life decisions on your behalf – if you are affected by something such as illness, an accident, or even if you are out of the country a lot for example – could save you and your family a lot of stress and heartache in future years.
Ok, ok, it’s not the cheeriest of subjects, and we’re not here to nag, but stay with us… what if we could wave our magic Muddy wand and get yours and your partner’s LPAs all done and dusted by a tip top lawyer, stress-free and without the hefty fees, too? Piqued your interest yet?
St Albans law firm, and local sponsor for the Herts and Beds Muddy Stilettos Awards, Debenhams Ottaway are offering exactly that. A legal eagle in their dedicated LPA and Court of Protection team will help you and your partner to set up your LPA documents (there are two different types of LPA – property and financial affairs and health and welfare), making sure they are completed correctly and officially registered to guarantee those crucial docs are in place for whenever you may need them.
We don’t all have a crystal ball to tell us what life’s got in store, but this amazing prize, worth over £1,000, could help you make the right decisions right now to provide some certainty in the future. And let’s face it, we could all do with a bit of that couldn’t we?

If you want to do an LPA, enter and don't win, please consider doing it yourself. It costs £82 per LPA and you can easily do it yourself (mostly online).I don't want you to be put off by the cost (£1,000) shown here - you can do it very simply yourself. I did and lots of others do too.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time11 -
Thanks - I actually really need to do this - was quoted several hundred by a firm per LPA (one for Health and Welfare, the other one for finances). I don't have that kind of money at the moment, so if you have any tips / links to useful websites on how you completed yours yourself and were reassured it had been completed robustly (because I have an ex who may contest the contents, who has a good legal background), I'd be really grateful. Thanks!Ms_Chocaholic said:If you want to do an LPA, enter and don't win, please consider doing it yourself.
