PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Is it normal for solicitor's to be so uncommunicative?

Unfortunately this is normal! If you find one that replies to you then you are doing well...its infuriating!
We've had to ask to speak to the senior partner before when we weren't getting anywhere with a house sale, if you search online they usually say who the senior partner is on the website or ask Reception for the senior partner on the phone...that did the trick for us!1 -
It's the complaints partner you want - who isn't necessarily the senior partner.trakky14 said:Unfortunately this is normal! If you find one that replies to you then you are doing well...its infuriating!

A week. That's good. Give me a week. It's taking the other side 3+weeks to email mine back at the moment.... Dragging out what should have been a fairly quick sale.MrCarrot said:I generally don't hear anything positive about conveyancers when it comes to communication. However, I have to add that so far our conveyancer has been great. They have applied for searches, made their enquiries, created the draft contract and sent it on, etc all in the first week. If I email, she replies within 10 minutes.
The "other side" however seems to take a week inbetween emails to reply.1 -
I have found out who the rest of the team are. There are 2 ppl above our solicitor. They aim to respond to complaints within 8 weeks - not sure that helps much. It's not about complaining it's about trying to get the info we need to proceed. Will just have to hassle him.2018 - £562 2019 - £130 2020 - £276 2021 - £106 2022 - £1400
