Unfortunately this is normal! If you find one that replies to you then you are doing well...its infuriating!

We've had to ask to speak to the senior partner before when we weren't getting anywhere with a house sale, if you search online they usually say who the senior partner is on the website or ask Reception for the senior partner on the phone...that did the trick for us!

It's the complaints partner you want - who isn't necessarily the senior partner.

I generally don't hear anything positive about conveyancers when it comes to communication.

However, I have to add that so far our conveyancer has been great. They have applied for searches, made their enquiries, created the draft contract and sent it on, etc all in the first week.  If I email, she replies within 10 minutes.

The "other side" however seems to take a week inbetween emails to reply.
A week. That's good. Give me a week. It's taking the other side 3+weeks to email mine back at the moment.... Dragging out what should have been a fairly quick sale.

I have found out who the rest of the team are. There are 2 ppl above our solicitor. They aim to respond to complaints within 8 weeks - not sure that helps much. It's not about complaining it's about trying to get the info we need to proceed. Will just have to hassle him.
