Fixed Tarriff
I received an email from British Gas at 10.45am yesterday asking me to consider switching to a new tarriff which they could fix for 12 months so yesterday evening I discussed with my wife and after looking at your website decided to go with it so clicked on the button only to receive a message saying "the offer has now ended" but the original email never suggested any end time. Has anyone else experienced the same problem?

You may wish to check the energy section of the site as there are multiple threads in progress about fixed deals.
This is the LPG, Oil and alternative fuels section. it's badly laid out and many post in this one by mistake. So much so, that often we will answer threads here anyway. However, as yours is about a specific tariff you may find that the energy section will get you more responses.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Welcome to the forum.
Most of the emails will have the information that the offer can be retracted without notice. But even if not if they did not give you a date until when you have to decide they can just withdraw if they have reached the number of people they want on fix, or if they just feel like it.
The general advise here is to just take a tariff that even looks remotely good. You have a 14 day cool off and can use this time to discuss it and investigate it. If you still like it, you keep it, if not, you cancel.2
