Parking Eye letter

Hi Guys, looking for a bit of advice. I have read the newbies sticky (might have found it a little confusing)

I have received a letter from parking eye for parking in a car park in st neots Cambridgeshire for 12 minutes, when i parked there i tried both machines to get a ticket but neither would go any further than entering my reg number and then it would do nothing. I was on a job for work and parked there walked to the job to ask about parking and returned and left to park at where my job was.

While I understand that a ticket wasnt purchased, this was due to the machines just not working properly, sadly I didn't think at the time to take a photo or video. The letter is asking for £60 if paid within 14 days rising to £100 after that, this seems a little excessive for a 12 minute park where the machines are not working.

It seems the only way to appeal is to do it in writing, should I even appeal it or should I just suck it up and pay and put it down to bad luck?

Plan A is always to complain to the landowner and your MP.

If that fails, appeal as keeper using the template in blue text from the NEWBIES.

Check first to see if you have a "golden ticket", a NTK that is non PoFA compliant. If it is, then add a comment to that affect.

Get pics of the site and signage. Where did the alleged event occur? IT may have cropped up here before.

Appeal (as keeper) online stating the machines were not working so the driver gained no utility from the site, and left.  See NEWBIES thread for the template appeal that you can tweak.

Do you also have evidence of paying for parking elsewhere? POPLA like that.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Thanks for the replies guys, the letter relates to a car park in St Neots in Cambridgeshire, I dont have a ticket or anything as I parked on private land after that owned by the place I was doing the job, I do have some paperwork relating to that job, would that be useful.

I appreciate your time and help with this matter
