first direct - I just discovered something!

One thing that irked me about first direct was that their desktop app requires a generated security code, available from within the iOS app. I was irritated that I had to log on to the iOS app, generate the code (which subsequently involves logging on to then out of the app) and enter it in the desktop window. It bothered me because I might as well have used the iOS app in the first place. THEN I discovered that it you long-press on the FD iOS app icon there are a few options, one of which is 'Generate Security Code'. Something as simple as this pleases me immensely! Am I the only one late to the party?

Don't know about iOS, but for Android at the very start there are two options - LOG ON and GO TO SECURITY CODES.Long-press works too - I didn't know this.0

Do they not offer the physical little security code generating gadgets any more then ?

Ahh, I have Face ID turned on so as soon as I tap on the icon I get logged in. If I turn Face ID off and rely on a password I get the choice to log in or generate security codes. Long press is so convenient and lets me keep the instant login using Face ID. Win win!grumbler said:Don't know about iOS, but for Android at the very start there are two options - LOG ON and GO TO SECURITY CODES.Long-press works too - I didn't know this.0 -
They do. It's either it or the app - your choice.p00hsticks said:Do they not offer the physical little security code generating gadgets any more then ?

Love the face ID, with FD app and others.1

I have Face ID on as well but since day one, with both HSBC and FD, when I need the security code for online banking I simply move the camera so it does not capture my face, click cancel and then I select generate security code, look into the camera and get the codegsmh said:

Surely a simple long press on the app icon is easier!1
