Thanks to everyone who has responded. Cifas got back to me today and they haven't got any bad info on me so I am guessing it must be the 2,2 on my previous address that is causing the issue

So I received a letter from Paragon today. It  states

Following an internal revue we are no longer able to proceed with your application for a savings account. Basically I don't fit their criteria. It listed 3 credit reference agencies including Call credit

I had checked the other 2 and other than a slight error on my previous address nothing else seemed amiss.

On the Call credit report it states on the electoral register for my current address is
    01/10/2019 to date *

Does anyone know what the edited register is? I pay council tax and have voted since we moved here. Could this be significant?

Its frustrating because my wife tried to open a Paragon account to see if she was accepted and she was straight away

The "Edited Register" (more often called the Open Register) is simply a subset of the full electoral register, which is available for anyone to view. When you register for electoral purposes at an address you have the option to "opt-out" of the edited register so that your personal information isn't available to just anyone who wants to buy it.

I have been opted out of the edited register for all my adult life (to help reduce junk mail among other things) and it's never affected my ability to open savings accounts or access credit facilities.

The Edited Register, aka Open Register, is one which can be bought by any commercial organisation. By default, you are on the Edited Register but you can opt out [to save you from receiving sales and marketing spam].

I am definitely opted out, have been since 1997. It has never been an issue with applications for any accounts, incl. at Paragon, where I opened an ISA just a couple of weeks ago. Sorry, not rubbing it in, just stating what happened for my Paragon ISA application.

No your not rubbing it in. Everything we have is joint but my wife is sailing through these checks and I'm failing.

Ironically I don't need any credit but its strange when I am being turned down for savings accounts
