Calorific Value

I wanted to update my spreadsheet to use the current CV values, instead of an approximate.
From a link from the Nationalgrid website, I was led to http://mip-prd-web.azurewebsites.net/DataItemExplorer/Index
Checking these values against a recent bill shows descrepancies.
As you can see from my recent bill, on 1 July my usage was calculated with a CV value of 39.8. The historical data shows the value to be 39.9.
All other values do not also match, as the mean does not tally with my bill's.
Just wondering if anyone would know why?

Unusual to find people complaining that they have paid less for their energy than they should nowadays.PennineAcute said:

Write to your supplier and offer to pay them some extra to cover the difference and let us know how you get on.0 -

That value was in my favour. Other values are not in my favour - so that one failed for you.
If only your comment was related to my query - as it would be a waste of time trying to implement my idea if BG's data does not tally with the official data.

Calorific value changes constantly.
You are charged the average for the billing time frame.1 -
Suppliers are required to use the average CV for gas supplied during the billing period with the caveat that the average is TRUNCATED to one decimal point. Your statement includes multiple billing periods all with their own truncated CV.It follows that an average of 39.875 would be billed as 39.8 not 39.9.Had they billed for the whole period 16 May to 1Jul and not in date segments, then the CV may have been slightly different.1
