Hi,

RE- Iceland, Exel parking ticket, forgot to pay.

I've read the newbie posts and relevant posts related to fines. I had a question regarding the company car I have.

In summary - Got an email from the leasing company with 3 attachments

1) The notice from Excel Parking, it's got a blurred CCTV pic of the car, number plate
2)  A copy of the letter the lease company sent  Excel, authorizing them to communicate direct with me
3) Letter notifying me they've attached above and - "We have given your details to the relevant authority transferring liability of this offence to you. The authority will now contact
you directly"

I've yet to receive anything in the post directly from Excel.

My question is, should  I pay this, or use the template that relates to not proving I was driving that day. Or appeal and provide evidence I was shopping in iceland, eg bank statement? I have already contacted the store, they said they can't do anything and to follow the appeal process.

Thank you for your help on this matter

You just do what the lease/hire/company car section explains in the NEWBIES thread first post.

The appeal is different and all explained there, but you can't do anything until you get your own NTH.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You should never use terms such as i did this, or my wife/husaband/brother/friend did that
    You said this
"We have given your details to the relevant authority transferring liability of this offence to you. The authority will now contactyou directly"

For your information, Excel are not an authority or even anything approaching an authority , no more than Coupn mad, you me, simple simon or anyone else.

A secondly no offence has been commited, the term "offence" is very specific.

As for the driver, you have given some strong hints that you  were an occupant of the vehicle however the driver could have been anyone else, and if their their rubbish doesnt comply with PoFA then its up to them to find out who who driver was, and thats as far as this needs to go

    • Registered keeper : name of the hire/lease company
    • Hirer/leaser : you - the person who received the communication
    • Driver - could of been anyone and its important that it stays as anyone
    With that in mind:
Name of lease company - you can say who this is without any issues - it may be useful as some are better than others at dealing with this sort of thing

Terms and conditions of lease, exact wording  as you can guess words are important here in particular what it says with regards to things like Fines, penalties, and any other charges - plus admin fees and so on

Location of car park - some of these sites are hot spots on here, and/or traps where many people have been stung before

type of car park - retail park? icelands own car park? stand alone? other?

Hi, thanks for getting back to me, much appreciated.

Leese company is Novuna Vehicle Solutions, a trading style of Mitsubishi HC Capital UK PLC,  - Company car. So on their correspondence to Excel, they wrote, "The above vehicle is on long term lease with Novuna Vehicle Solutions and the nominated person above has full use of the vehicle", and included my name and address.

There's no admin fees on their half, they sent an email to my work address with the 3 attachments, contents of the email

    Dear Customer

We are writing to let you know that we have received notification regarding a Driving Offence for =reg Removed=

One of the three actions below will have happened:

    1.      We have transferred liability of the charge to you. If the fine increase date has passed please wait for the fine to be re-issued direct to you, as it should revert to the original rate.

    2.      We have paid the charge and will recharge you with an administration fee.

    3.      We have forwarded the fine to you for information (warning letters etc.)

If you wish to appeal or query this then you must contact the issuing authority directly using the details on the Third Party Letter.

Please read through the attached documents for further details.

    Yours faithfully

So shall I hang fire until I get the actual notice direct from them? Thanks again

Probably not a good idea to have your vehicle's registration mark clearly shown.

The parking companies are known to read this forum just waiting for people to trip themselves up and will make the most of any opportunity to gather information.

This is not a fine, nor is it a penalty.
     Excel are not an authority.

That is the letter/info you have, however the important stuff is the wording of the terms and conditions for the use of the vehicle
