In 2017 my friends and I rented an Airbnb. We collected the keys from a central reservation desk and were told to park in a certain bay in the car park opposite and to display the parking permit in the windscreen. The car park was not brilliantly lit but we found the bay and put permit in windscreen.
We returned the keys and permit 2 days later after a fab weekend.
One month later I received a parking fine from UKPC. It claimed we were parked in the wrong bay. I contacted the Airbnb and they apologised and said they had given us the permit for the bay next to the one we parked in but not to worry as they own both and to tell the company.
UKPC said it was too late to appeal and sent me a photo of my car with a parking ticket attached to the windscreen. That was definitely not there when we got to the car, if it had been I would have handed it over with the keys and said deal with it.
I ignored the letter 6 months later I received a letter from a debt collector- not Dcbl which I ignored too. 4 years later I received a letter from DCBL which I ignored , a month later I received another one then for the next 2 consecutive months. Nothing for another 6 months now I have one from DCB legal - what do I do? The Airbnb have sold their properties! Help.

If you have a LBC from DCB Legal then just follow what the NEWBIES thread second posts says.  You can add in some detail in your response to DCB Legal telling them that the driver was permitted to park there by the landowner, and re-telling the story.  But don't write politely or expect them to cancel, this is not a cheerful exchange or an appeal to any fair company.

None of this 'hello' then 'kind regards' (that we keep seeing) in your email!

They are a roboclaim monster and it's a numbers game to them.

Read the thread by @Umkomaas about DCB Legal discontinuances because that's what will happen to you in the end - scam over!  But you have to play the court defence game to get there.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
