    Christmas?

Weirdly enough, I was just thinking about this thread earlier today!
  • I did read this thread earlier in the year, its a fab idea, very cheap to do too!

Npt sure if anyone has ever made it but I made rocky road the other day, its something we had in Australia. My OH loved it over there but it wasnt the same here, so I looked up a recipe and made some. I made it in a round container so just before it set really hard I sliced it like a cake and it cut very easily.

    marshmallow
milk chocolate (sometimes dark or white chocolate is used) - tesco value!
    desiccated coconut
jelly - I left this out
nuts, particularly peanuts - I used chocolate covered peanuts and then topped with crushed hazelnuts

Ooh, that sounds great (minus the jelly)! I made Rocky Road ice cream a few months ago. :D
  • o0o0o! what did that come out like? I wont show my OH this post otherwise he will be sending me to the shop!

The jelly is like jelly sweets, thats what it was in oz anyway. But we prefer it without anyway.

    It was really, really yummy!

I'd never actually heard of Rocky Road until I found the recipe:
    http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Rocky-Road-Ice-Cream/Detail.aspx

Heavy cream is double cream, light cream is single cream. I also added chocolate chip cookie dough. :D
  • thanks for that, I have saved it to my favourites

Its been too long since I've been in here...oh yeah, my disastrous Easter Eggs.:rotfl: Must stick to chocolate slabs - talking of which, I am munching my way through a big bar of Cadburys as we speak.

Qwiksave - get out of the BB thread and lets talk tempering. :D:p

Tempering? We never used to bother with that did we? (And wondered why ours didn't work out right!) :rotfl:
