They look great, I was going to have a go at these last year and never did, tempted now again, if I get a chance.
Haven't done half the stuff I wanted to this year.. again!
Well done to your daughter OP.

I thought of this thread today when I was in M&S because they had something really similar! (And for a lot more moolah, obviously).
They had basically done the chocolate slab thing (with nuts and possibly raisins on top, so they looked more for grown ups) then they'd broken it up roughly, stacked them in cellophane and tied them with straw. It looked really classy but I just thought to myself, thanks to Quackers' daughter I know how to make them for a lot less0 -
Hi there Quakers. These look brill...would you mind asking your DD how much choc and how much butter she used for one of these. My kids would love to make one each for their special friends. Thanks in advance..best wishes..S
Hi
She used 2 x 200g bars of milk chocolate and literally just a 'blob' of butter for each one.
I suppose you could use more - and then it would be really thick.Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -

I just told her and she went 'wahey'. And there was even a little bit of excitement in her voice - she doesn't do emotion. She's 13.
But I think she's also fairly relieved that she cannot be linked to 'the Duck'Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -

Been thinking about these chocolate slabs and when I do crispies I use Mars bars so that might be another idea for a slab, I use a dod of butter too and some syrup0 -

This is so unfair. I have a chocolate craving and the only chocolates in the house are the ones wrapped for my Mum for Christmas.
Can the girls e-mail me a slab over............. just a few squares even?
