Car voluntary termination

In October 2020 my partner could no longer afford her car so she decided to voluntarily terminate the finance as she was more than half way through.
This was accepted by the finance company and she was told they would collect the car as soon as possible but it would take longer than usual due to covid.
The car is still sitting sorned and un motd on my dad's drive way as despite my partner contacting them every month they have not bothered to collect.
Where do we stand here as it has nearly been two years can we sell the car to a scrap yard of we leave it on the street and report it my partner will be liable as it is still her name on the owners papers.
Any advice would be great.
Cheers

Was this a PCP deal? If so the car has always been owned by the finance company and still is. It is not yours to sell.
What paperwork does your partner have confirming the VT is completed? You don't normally get that until the car has been collected and examined for damage.
If the car has not been accepted back yet is she maintaining it in good condition?
Your partner should have transferred registered keeper to the finance company as soon as she stopped using it. If she is still RK she is responsible for SORN (or lack of) and if no SORN she remains responsible for tax and insurance, even on your Dad's driveway. If the car is not on public road MOT is not required.

The OP has said that the car is SORNed and parked on a driveway.

Have the company been chased up on a regular basis?
Could be that someone failed to note something and it has been forgotten about.Life in the slow lane1 -
It's sorned and off the road, all she has is smiles saying they will get around to picking it up and excuses as to why it was taking so long, it hasn't turned a wheel since she contacted them and she was not told to sign it over until it was collected she has not been asked for or made a payment since she contacted them?
So should she sign it back to them and then park it on the street, they are showing no interest in collecting it0 -

I'm not sure what more she can practically do to get action, but just dumping it somewhere isn't the answer.0 -

So how many times has she made contact in the past 2 years? Phone, email letter? When was the last contact made?
