Credit rating hit due to o2 scam

Options
I received default letters back in April 22 regarding payments owing on a o2 mobile phone account I had not opened. I am not even an o2 customer! I rang them promptly to alert them to this and they assured me they would look into it. I received a further default letter 14 days later and called them again to be reassured that it had been flagged as fraud and would be sorted.
Fast forward to now and I am receiving alerts from my Experian credit score to say that o2 are still logging unpaid payments to the account opened. I had worked hard to get myself a good credit score for it now to have fallen right back. I called o2 2 weeks ago about this and was given an email address for their fraud team. I emailed them and they still have not responded.
Does anyone have any advice as to what to do next? I am really upset that this is likely to scupper any plans we had to buy a house.
Thank you for reading.

You raise a formal complaint, dispute the account and it will be removed once they confirm you didn't open it.

Your credit score will drop further when the data is corrected but that's fine. Credit scores play no part in lending decisions.

Check your other files to make sure there are no other accounts that you don't recognise.

When you raise the formal complaint, include, that  the failure to take timely action and correct this error / fraud has caused you distress, embarrassment and financial loss.

Furthermore, compensation of at least £250 appears reasonable for the failure.

My experience is  mention of compensation will really get a speedy action / response
