unblocking hoover bendy hose bit???

So i bought this sparkly new vacuum cleaner that is Hoover. It's a bagless thingy with 1800watt power or whatever it is, and worked great in my first room where i started - collected dust and whatnot as it should.

anyway soon i realised that the 'check indicator' was flashing and the suction was poor. emptied the cleaner, tried again. same thing. took off the bottom bit, still the same thing. took the metal pipe bit that connects hose to the bit where it contacts the floor, same thing. eventually took the hose off and it works fine.

So there must be something in the bendy hose bit that connects to the machine itself. how the hell do i unblock it?!?

cheers

  • Best thing to do is just to squeeze it hard along its length....
( sorry that sounds a wee bit lewd !!!!) with the machine switched on then you will hear when the blockage goes cos the sound of the machine will change
If that dont shift it try pushing something flexible up the hose.......
    or try reversing the hose

You should be able to take it off altogether and lay it flat on the floor and push something like a bamboo cane gently through from the cleaner end of the hose (which is usually slightly narrower hence it blocks) to push it back out the same way it went in. Have done it so know it works.
