New John Lewis Credit card. - Newday financial

I had a spammy email that "My John lewis credit card was closing" and I should apply for their new card. The old card for years has been backed by HSBC.
They say none of these can be changed until I've used the card for the first time and I have the first bill and can't be changed in the app! Old app I could change all of these.
Direct debit. It's been set up with a beneficiary of Santander. Previously it was John Lewis financial?
I signed up without problems UNTIL
- I asked to change my payment date, lower my credit limit and set my name format on my card
- I like the payment date to be soon after I'm paid and not some random date 15 days plus the throw of a dice
- I like my name to reveal as little about me as possible.
- I want a credit limit to be say 4 times my max monthly spend not 20 times.

Does this ring alarm bells? Should I cancel it?

No. It's fine. It wasn't a spammy email you received, but one sent to existing JL cardholders.
And NewDay use Santander for receipt of payments.0 -
The JLFS app allowed you to determine the way your name was printed on your card? Really? The only company I know who even offer a choice on that are Amex, who allow you to select 3 or 4 different variations on your name at the time of application.0

I had the choice with a debit card either from Starling or Monzo, think it was in the form of Mr A B Smith / Mr A Smith / A B Smith / Anthony Smith. Not seen any credit card firms do it though, I did specifically ask Halifax as I wanted Anthony Smith rather than Mr Anthony Smith but they wouldn't offer thatWillPS said:The JLFS app allowed you to determine the way your name was printed on your card? Nationwide do the same during application, can't remember seeing the same with a credit card application (not saying no one, other than Amex do allow it).Deleted_User said:

Thought as much. So that's nothing basically, certainly not a red flag.
Seems perfectly reasonable to ask for a statement to settle before changing the generation date, I would say.
It's a little more arbitrary that they won't let you reduce your credit limit but then is it really that much of a problem?
Perfectly normal for a credit card issuer to use a separate clearing bank for receipt of payments - Amex use Lloyds for example.0 -
Other banks that let me specify MY details. i.e. name format, one even put the correct Umlaut in my nameDeleted_User said:
